Sandwich Ministry Weekly Message:

(This message was included in each sandwich bag handed out on Friday, April 20th.)

Safes and lockers allow us to keep our important papers and possessions safe from thieves.  In order to get into them, however, we have to know the combination.  Without the combination, they are useless to us.  The Bible acts as the combination or key to a full understanding of God’s promises, love and the abundant, everlasting life he has planned for each of us.  By reading and studying the Bible, these are all opened up to us and allow us to participate in God’s family of believers.  Then, when trouble and adversity strike unexpectedly, you will have the combination or key to God’s strength and help in overcoming these trials.  Join us on Sunday mornings at Holy Trinity at 10:00 am for our weekly service.   Sunday School is also available for children in grades K-5 at 10:00 am.

Collect for Third Sunday of Easter:  O God, whose blessed Son made himself known to his disciples in the breaking of bread: Open the eyes of our faith, that we may behold him in all his redeeming work; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.Amen.

Sandwich Ministry Weekly Message:

(This message was included in each sandwich bag handed out on Friday, April 13th.)

When learning to swim, usually the first step is to learn to float.  In learning to float, you are learning to “trust the water”—in other words, you are learning to trust that the buoyancy of the water will hold you up.  If you begin trying to float on your own efforts, you will start sinking.   The same is true in our faith walk with God.  We need to stop trying to help ourselves to be a “good” person to get to Heaven and instead trust in Jesus and his word in the Bible to keep us in God’s will in our daily life. Just like floating, when we try to walk through our spiritual life on our own, without Jesus’ help, we sink.  Join us on Sunday mornings at 10:00 am at Holy Trinity for our weekly service.

Sandwich Ministry Weekly Message:

(This message was included in each sandwich bag handed out on Friday, March 23rd.)

Have you ever arranged for a vacation rental and found when you got to your vacation destination that it was not the utopia you expected?  Maybe it was too small, too hot or cold or too noisy.  It just seemed to cast a shadow over your whole vacation experience.  In the Bible Jesus tells us that He is preparing a place for us in Heaven for all those who commit their lives to following Him (John 14:2).  However, we can rest assured that Jesus’ preparations for us in Heaven will be perfect.  We are told there will be no tears, sorrow or parting from loved ones ever again with its light shining from God’s presence with no more night.  In Revelation chapter 21 we are told of streets of gold, foundations made of valuable gems and gates of pearls, and nothing impure will be allowed to enter in.  What a wonderful place for God’s children to spend eternity!  Join us on Sunday mornings at Holy Trinity at 10:00 am for our service.  Sunday School is available at 10:00 am for children in grades K-5.

“For the Lamb (Jesus) at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; He will lead them to springs of living water.  And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”  Revelation 7:17

Easter Sandwich Ministry:  We will be holding a special Easter Sandwich Ministry on Wednesday, March 28th at 11:00 am.  This replaces our usual Friday Sandwich Ministry for this week only.  We will be providing a ham sandwich lunch with chips and pudding along with the usual Wawa sandwiches.

Sandwich Ministry Weekly Message:

(This message was included in each sandwich bag handed out on Friday, March 16th.)

Pride is a common human emotion which is talked about in several places in the Bible.  We often feel pride over our worldly possessions, our actions and our personal abilities.  It is hard to remember that all these “things” are temporary, earthly possessions and actions.  They have no bearing on our spiritual state or relationship with God; nor in our future Heavenly home.  Jesus came to earth, born in lowly circumstances and throughout his ministry had few possessions.  In fact, Jesus states in Matthew 8:20 that “foxes have holes and birds of the earth have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay His head”.  He also preached that we must put aside our pride in earthly treasure and store up treasures in Heaven.  So whether we have little or a lot in earthly possessions, it is our spiritual relationship with God that is what we should strive to achieve and perfect.  Join us on Sunday mornings at 10:00 am at Holy Trinity for our service.  Sunday School is available for children in grades K-5 at 10:30.

“He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, ‘Whoever wants to be first must be last of all and servant of all.’”  Mark 9:35

Weekly Community Social Networking Event:  Every Monday from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, we hold a discussion group led by David Nejako.  This is open to anyone from the parish or the community who would like to join in a group to discuss different subjects.  The topic for discussion on Monday, March 19th is “Cathedral Construction”.  Anyone who would like to connect with others in a discussion group setting is invited.

Lent Service Reception:  As noted below, the Broad Street Churches Lent Service will be held at Holy Trinity on March 21st.  We will host a reception in St. Margaret’s Hall following the service.  Please sign up to bring light refreshments and plan on joining in the service that evening.  The food sign-up sheet is on the Parish Life bulletin board outside the sanctuary doors.

Broad Street Churches Lent Services:  This year we are again joining with the Lansdale Methodist and First Baptist, churches both located on Broad Street, for a series of Wednesday night services during Lent.  Each Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm, beginning on Wednesday, February 14th through March 21st, one of the three churches will act as the host church and one of the three churches will provide a preacher.  The schedule has Holy Trinity providing a preacher on March 7th at the First Baptist Church; and we are leading the service at Holy Trinity on February 28th and March 21st with a reception following the service.

The full schedule is posted on the Parish Life bulletin board.  Everyone is invited to attend any or all of these services.  Each week we will list in the Herald the service information for the upcoming week:

Sandwich Ministry Weekly Message:

(This message was included in each sandwich bag handed out on Friday, March 9th.)

When a major winter weather storm is brewing, we start preparing ahead of time to meet any emergencies it may bring with it.  We stock extra food, be sure we have flashlights and batteries, and make sure outside items are secured.  But what about the personal storms of life that unexpectedly hit us and make us feel vulnerable and helpless?   The Bible calls God a rock in the time of trouble that we can cling to and a shelter or fortress in the time of storm.  When we commit our lives to Jesus, we are preparing to weather any storm in the shelter of his loving arms.   Join us Sunday at Holy Trinity on Sunday mornings at 10:00 am.  Sunday School is available for children in grades K-5 at 10:00 am.

Sandwich Ministry Weekly Message:

(This message was included in each sandwich bag handed out on Friday, March 2nd.)

As we watch things unfold in both our personal lives and on the world scene, we often feel like we must do certain things to get God’s attention, approval and to “help” him resolve our personal problems.  In reality, God has His Hand over everything that happens whether to us personally or to the world; and all Heavenly and earthly power is in His mighty hands. God is sovereign, loves us as His children and does not require certain rituals or actions to get his attention.  God does want to hear from us through heart-felt prayer and the Bible says our praise brings joy to Him. How many times have you seen a child run with enthusiasm to greet their father when he comes home?  Like children, we should run enthusiastically to God through prayer and praise.  Join us on Sunday mornings at 10:00 am for worship and praise to our mighty God.  Sunday School is available for children in grades K-5 at 10:00 am.

Remember as children we played a game called “Whisper Down the Lane”?  The game was played by the first person in line whispering a sentence to the second person in line, so forth down to the end of the line.  Then, the person at the end of the line would speak out loud the sentence that he or she heard.  Usually, by the time the sentence made it all the way to the end of the line, it was very different from the original sentence whispered at the beginning of the line.  It is good to know that for spiritual matters in our Christian daily walk, we do not have to depend on only the spoken word passed down through generations.  We have the Bible, which is the inspired word of God, in which we can read God’s word as given to His servants and prophets.  Join us at Holy Trinity on Sunday mornings at 10:00 am as we read God’s word.  Sunday School for children in grades K-5 is available at 10:00 am.

“The Lord exists forever; your word is firmly fixed in heaven.”  Psalm 119:89

Sandwich Ministry Weekly Message:

(This message was included in each sandwich bag handed out on Friday, February 2nd.)

Observing the world around us and listening to the world news each day, can cause all of us to feel that everything is spinning out of control.  Each day seems to bring a new crisis and a new problem for which there does not seem to be any resolution.  Although it may seem this way to us with our “earthly eyes”, God is not surprised, alarmed or one bit unsure.  The Bible tells us that our God is omnipotent (all powerful), omnipresent (present everywhere at the same time) and omniscient (all knowing). So this means He is still in full control and knows the future.  Through prophecy in the Bible, we can rest assured that God has no limits, has a plan and is every minute of every day in full control of all situations.  He is truly an almighty God who we can depend on and trust.  You are welcome to join us on Sunday mornings at Holy Trinity at 10:00 for our service.  Sunday School is also available at 10:00 am for children in grades K-5.

“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”  Revelation 22:13

Weekly Community Social Networking Event:  Every Monday from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, we hold a discussion group in St. Margaret’s Hall led by David Nejako.  This is open to anyone from the parish or the community who would like to join in a group to discuss different subjects.  Anyone who would like to connect with others in a discussion group setting is invited.

Annual Chili Cook-Off:  Join us on Saturday, February 10th at 6:30 pm for the Annual Chili Cook-Off.  Bring your best chili to challenge for the “Golden Spoon”.  Chili of all shapes, sizes and styles are welcome.  Look for the sign-up sheet in the Narthex or let Bill Keith know if you would like to bring chili or anything else.  As always this is a BYOB event and please have all food to the church by 6:00 pm.  Friends and family always welcome!!
