Sandwich Ministry Weekly Message:

(This message was included in each sandwich bag handed out on Friday, February 2nd.)

Observing the world around us and listening to the world news each day, can cause all of us to feel that everything is spinning out of control.  Each day seems to bring a new crisis and a new problem for which there does not seem to be any resolution.  Although it may seem this way to us with our “earthly eyes”, God is not surprised, alarmed or one bit unsure.  The Bible tells us that our God is omnipotent (all powerful), omnipresent (present everywhere at the same time) and omniscient (all knowing). So this means He is still in full control and knows the future.  Through prophecy in the Bible, we can rest assured that God has no limits, has a plan and is every minute of every day in full control of all situations.  He is truly an almighty God who we can depend on and trust.  You are welcome to join us on Sunday mornings at Holy Trinity at 10:00 for our service.  Sunday School is also available at 10:00 am for children in grades K-5.

“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”  Revelation 22:13

The full schedule is posted on the Parish Life bulletin board.  Everyone is invited to attend any or all of these services.  Each week we will list in the Herald the service information for the upcoming week:

Sandwich Ministry Weekly Message:

(This message was included in each sandwich bag handed out on Friday, January 19th.)

We live in a time when change seems to be happening at an increased pace.  Many of us remember when computers took up a whole room and now they can be carried in our pocket.  We can all think of many chores and jobs that used to be long and labor-intensive that can now be done in minutes due to new devices and tools that are constantly being updated on the market.  We’ve often heard the phrase that the only thing still certain is change.  But the Bible tells us that God never changes.  He is the same today as he was at the beginning of time.  We can count on God’s word never changing, his love for us will never waiver and his sovereignty will never cease.  Join us on Sunday morning for services at Holy Trinity at 10:00 am.  Sunday School is available for children in grades K-5 at 10:00 am as well.

Sandwich Ministry Weekly Message:

(This message was included in each sandwich bag handed out on Friday, January 12th.)

Suffering will come to all of us.  Whether it is physical suffering from an illness or an injury; or emotional suffering from events and circumstances in our life.  Jesus went through both physical suffering on the cross and emotional suffering as all deserted him in his last hours on earth.  When we are in a time of suffering, we have a choice; to take our suffering to God in prayer and lean on his strength or try to “tough it out” on our own.  God has promised to be there for us and to help us through times of suffering, walking beside us and giving us the strength to carry on.  When our own reserve of strength is gone, God is waiting with His strength, as strong as ever, to carry us through any suffering we may face.  Join us at Holy Trinity for our service on Sundaymornings at 10:00 am.

My comfort in my suffering is this: Your (God’s) promise preserves my life.”  Psalm 119:50

Sandwich Ministry Weekly Message:

(This message was included in each sandwich bag handed out on Friday, January 5th.)

Do you know someone who is a “perfectionist”—always looking to do everything absolutely perfectly, have the perfect relationships and family and surround themselves with those people who they feel are perfect in every way. There is no room in the perfectionist’s life for errors in judgment or actions, relationships that are emotionally “messy” or people who cannot meet their high standards.  Life is often disappointing for the perfectionist because no one or no circumstances can meet their impossible standards.  Only God is perfect.  God does not look at us as “imperfect” or “not up to standards”.  He accepts us as we are with our faults, failures and missed opportunities.  In fact, He accepts us into his family of believers just as we are.  You don’t need to be perfect before recognizing Jesus as your Savior and Lord; you only need to be willing to trust and follow Him.

“…for the Lord sees not as man sees; man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart”  I Samuel 16:7b

Sandwich Ministry Weekly Message:

(This message was included in each sandwich bag handed out on Friday, December 31st.)

The thought of a new year and new beginnings is very pleasing to many of us.  It seems to be a chance to start fresh in our daily lives, our relationships and work environment.  What about our spiritual lives?  We are told in the Bible that any time we accept Jesus and recognize him as our Lord and Savior and live our lives as Christians, we become a “new” creature in Christ and old things are

passed away and all things become new.  When we become one of God’s children, in God’s eyes we are a new person without any of the old baggage since God offers full forgiveness.  Join us at Holy Trinity on Sunday mornings at 10:00 am and learn about the new life God offers all of us.

“Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature:  old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new”.  II Corinthians 5:17

With the approach of Christmas, this is an exciting time of the year with gift buying, decorating, parties, renewing relationships with old friends and family.  In all the hustle and bustle and excitement of preparing for the best Christmas Day ever, we often forget to take time to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.  It is not just a holiday for gift giving and parties; it is the birthday of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  God gave His ultimate gift to the world on this day, His Son, Jesus.  Take time to thank God for his precious gift and to welcome Jesus into your life.  Join us at Holy Trinity for Sunday morning services at 10:00 am and also join us on December 24th, Christmas Eve, at 7:00 pm for our family Christmas Eve worship service; and take time to thank God for his wondrous gift.

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:11

Annual Santa Brunch:  Join us on Sunday, December 10th, for the Annual Santa Brunch following the service.  Join us for brunch and photos with the big man himself.  Invite your friends and family for this fun-filled fellowship event.  As in the past, we are asking for a free-will donation to help cover the cost of the event, which is typically about $250.  We are also asking for help in the kitchen before, during, and after service.  Any questions, or if you are willing to help, please see Bill Keith.

Sharing Christmas:  We are continuing a Holy Trinity tradition of buying Christmas gifts for a local family.  Thank you to all those who signed up to buy a gift. All wrapped, labeled gifts must be to the church by December 10th.

Weekly Community Social Networking Event:  Every Monday from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, we hold a discussion group in St. Margaret’s Hall led by David Nejako.  This is open to anyone from the parish or the community who would like to join in a group to discuss different subjects.  The topic on Monday, December 11th will be “String Theory & Parallel Universes”.   Anyone who would like to connect with others in a discussion group setting is invited.

Adult Bible Study:  The Vestry has elected to begin a weekly adult Bible study.  At the Vestry’s request, The Rev. Alan Broadhead will lead this study.  It will be held on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm.   All are welcome to attend.

Christmas Flowers:  If you wish to contribute toward Christmas flowers this year as a memorial or thanksgiving donation, please place your donation in one of the envelopes in the Narthex and fill out the envelope if you want it listed as a memorial in the Christmas bulletin.  All donations must be received by Sunday, December 17th for inclusion in the bulletin.

Fellowship Meal with First Generation Church:  Our neighbors at the Korean congregation of The First Generation Church at N. Broad & E. Fifth Street have invited us for a fellowship meal with them on Sunday, December 31st at 11:30 am.  Pastor Lee has invited everyone from Holy Trinity to come to a dinner, prepared by his congregation, as a time for parishioners at the two churches to meet and socialize.  Please join us so we have a good turn-out from Holy Trinity to fellowship with our neighbor church.  We will leave Holy Trinity around 11:15 am and walk down to the First Generation Church.

Annual Winter Coat Drive:  Again this year, Holy Trinity will be collecting used winter coats in good condition for donation.  This includes coats for men, women and children.  Some of the coats will be donated to Seamen’s Institute in Philadelphia, and the rest will be handed out in Lansdale at our Friday Sandwich Ministry.

2017 Christmas Service Schedule:  The following schedule will be in place for Christmas worship this year:
