April 29, 2018 Fifth Sunday of Easter
Collect for Fifth Sunday of Easter: Almighty God, whom truly to know is everlasting life: Grant us so perfectly to know your Son Jesus Christ to be the way, the truth, and the life, that we may steadfastly follow his steps in the way that leads to eternal life; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Sandwich Ministry Weekly Message:
(This message was included in each sandwich bag handed out on Friday, April 27th.)
On the church calendar we continue to celebrate the season of Easter, the resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ. For the Christian, the resurrection changes everything. It shows us that we, too, will have everlasting life in heaven with a “resurrection” body—a body like Jesus had when he returned to earth after his resurrection. It also assures us that just as Jesus told his followers in the Bible that he would die, but rise again on the third day; he has also told us that he is coming again to gather his believers to him and rule over a new heaven and a new earth. No matter how bad situations appear now on earth, no matter how much injustice we see in the world, we know and can anticipate with confidence that Jesus will return and defeat these evils. Join us on Sunday mornings at Holy Trinity at 10:00 am for our weekly service.
“And the one who was seated on the throne (God) said, ‘See I am making all things new.’ Also he said, ‘Write this for these words are trustworthy and true.’ Then he said ‘It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give water as a gift from the spring of the water of life. Those who conquer will inherit these things, and I will be their God and they will be my children.’” Revelation 21:5-7
Weekly Community Social Networking Event: Every Monday from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, we hold a discussion group led by David Nejako. This is open to anyone from the parish or the community who would like to join in a group to discuss different subjects. The topic for discussion on Monday, April 30th is “John Muir”. Anyone who would like to connect with others in a discussion group setting is invited.
