The Weekly Newsletter of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church

March 25, 2018 Sunday of the Passion:  Palm Sunday

Collect for Palm Sunday:  Almighty and ever living God, in your tender love for the human race you sent your Son our Savior Jesus Christ to take upon him our nature, and to suffer death upon the cross, giving us the example of his great humility: Mercifully grant that we may walk in the way of his suffering, and also share in his resurrection; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Sandwich Ministry Weekly Message:

(This message was included in each sandwich bag handed out on Friday, March 23rd.)

Have you ever arranged for a vacation rental and found when you got to your vacation destination that it was not the utopia you expected?  Maybe it was too small, too hot or cold or too noisy.  It just seemed to cast a shadow over your whole vacation experience.  In the Bible Jesus tells us that He is preparing a place for us in Heaven for all those who commit their lives to following Him (John 14:2).  However, we can rest assured that Jesus’ preparations for us in Heaven will be perfect.  We are told there will be no tears, sorrow or parting from loved ones ever again with its light shining from God’s presence with no more night.  In Revelation chapter 21 we are told of streets of gold, foundations made of valuable gems and gates of pearls, and nothing impure will be allowed to enter in.  What a wonderful place for God’s children to spend eternity!  Join us on Sunday mornings at Holy Trinity at 10:00 am for our service.  Sunday School is available at 10:00 am for children in grades K-5.

“For the Lamb (Jesus) at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; He will lead them to springs of living water.  And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”  Revelation 7:17

Weekly Community Social Networking Event:  Every Monday from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, we hold a discussion group led by David Nejako.  This is open to anyone from the parish or the community who would like to join in a group to discuss different subjects.  The topic for discussion on Monday, March 26th is “Vincent Van Gogh”.  Anyone who would like to connect with others in a discussion group setting is invited.

Easter Sandwich Ministry:  We will be holding a special Easter Sandwich Ministry on Wednesday, March 28th at 11:00 am.  This replaces our usual Friday Sandwich Ministry for this week only.  We will be providing a ham sandwich lunch with chips and pudding along with the usual Wawa sandwiches.

Caring Committee:  “As the Father has loved me so I have loved you”—loving words of our Savior.  We have people in our Church who need our help, time and love.  If you can take someone on an errand (grocery store, pharmacy, etc.) or give them a ride to church, please call David Nejako at 215-767-6333.  Thank you for reaching out to help members of our church family.

Holy Trinity’s Sandwich Ministry – Each Friday Holy Trinity volunteers hand out sandwiches to hungry folks at the corner of 4th and Broad Streets at 11:00 am.   Questions? Please call the church office at 215-855-4431.

Men’s Breakfast Group:  All men are invited to attend the monthly Men’s Breakfast Group, which meets at 8:00 a.m. the last Saturday of every month at the West Main Diner in Lansdale.  If you are interested in joining us, please contact Ray Medlin atraymedlin1211@yahoo.com.

Women’s Breakfast:  All women are invited to attend the monthly Women’s Breakfast which meets at 9:30 am the last Saturday of every month at Franconi’s Restaurant in North Wales.  If you are interested in joining us or have questions, please contact JoAnn Ferrara at jfishome@icloud.com or call 267-410-1519.

Manna Outreach:  The children of Lansdale thank you for your contributions to Manna on Main Street.  Please continue to donate cupped fruit, peanut butter, jelly, canned tuna, ham and salmon as well as snack bars and crackers.  Please remember to check the expiration dates. Also, remember cat and dog food, both wet and dry, is also collected for needy families with pets.
