The Weekly Newsletter of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church
January 21, 2018 Third Sunday after the Epiphany
Collect for Third Sunday after the Epiphany: Give us grace, O Lord, to answer readily the call of our Savior Jesus Christ and proclaim to all people the Good News of his salvation, that we and the whole world may perceive the glory of his marvelous works; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Sunday School: Sunday School is held each Sunday at 10:00 am in the downstairs classroom. Sunday School is open to all children from Kindergarten to 5th grade.
Adult Discussion Group: Each Sunday at 9:00 am the Adult Discussion Group meets in the Chapel to discuss an examination of the life of Jeremiah. The book that will guide us will be “Run with the Horses” by Eugene H. Peterson. Feel free to join us at any time. While reading the book in advance may be beneficial, it is in no way a requirement for entering the discussion. Contact Wayne Stratz at email@example.com if you have any questions.
THE ADULT DISCUSSION GROUP WILL NOT BE HELD ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 21st.
Sandwich Ministry Weekly Message:
(This message was included in each sandwich bag handed out on Friday, January 19th.)
We live in a time when change seems to be happening at an increased pace. Many of us remember when computers took up a whole room and now they can be carried in our pocket. We can all think of many chores and jobs that used to be long and labor-intensive that can now be done in minutes due to new devices and tools that are constantly being updated on the market. We’ve often heard the phrase that the only thing still certain is change. But the Bible tells us that God never changes. He is the same today as he was at the beginning of time. We can count on God’s word never changing, his love for us will never waiver and his sovereignty will never cease. Join us on Sunday morning for services at Holy Trinity at 10:00 am. Sunday School is available for children in grades K-5 at 10:00 am as well.
“The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever.” Isaiah 40:8
