The Weekly Newsletter of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church
October 8, 2017 Pentecost 18
Collect for Pentecost 18: Almighty and everlasting God, you are always more ready to hear than we to pray, and to give more than we either desire or deserve: Pour upon us the abundance of your mercy, forgiving us those things of which our conscience is afraid, and giving us those good things for which we are not worthy to ask, except through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ our Savior; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Sunday School: Sunday School is held each Sunday at 10:00 am in the downstairs classroom. Sunday School is open to all children from Kindergarten to 5th grade.
Blessing of the Animals: On Sunday, October 8th, at the 10:00 am service, we will perform the Blessing of the Animals. If you wish your animal to be blessed, please bring either your live animal, or children may bring stuffed animals, to the service and Pastor Christina will perform the blessing. All live animals must be on a leash or in a carrier.
Church Parish Survey: We will be emailing a survey on Friday, October 6th for all members and friends of Holy Trinity to fill out. Hard copy of this survey will also be available in the Narthex. This survey is designed to help the Vestry better understand what types of services and what type of presentation of the liturgy parishioners desire, and what you think Holy Trinity needs to do to better meet the spiritual needs of the congregation and community. Please take the time to complete the survey to help Vestry plan for the future of Holy Trinity. Results will be shared with the congregation. Please complete and return your survey by Sunday, October 15th. If you have questions or need help with the survey, please contact any Vestry member. Vestry members will be available to help fill out the survey on Sunday, October 8th during the Coffee Hour.
Weekly Community Social Networking Event: Every Monday from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, we hold a discussion group in St. Margaret’s Hall led by David Nejako. This is open to anyone from the parish or the community who would like to join in a group to discuss different subjects. The topic on Monday, October 9th will be “The Brain”. Anyone who would like to connect with others in a discussion group setting is invited.
Adult Bible Study: The Vestry has elected to begin a weekly adult Bible study. At the Vestry’s request, The Rev. Alan Broadhead will lead this study. It will be held on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm. All are welcome to attend.
Chair Plaque Fundraiser: Holy Trinity is selling engraved plaques for our sanctuary chair backs as a fundraiser. Each plaque is 4” long X 1-1/2” high and may be engraved with wording of your choice. Each plaque costs $75.00. Order forms for the plaques are available in the Narthex or through the Church Office.
