The Weekly Newsletter of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church
July 23, 2017 Seventh Sunday after Pentecost
Collect for Seventh Sunday after Pentecost: Almighty God, the fountain of all wisdom, you know our necessities before we ask and our ignorance in asking: Have compassion on our weakness, and mercifully give us those things which for our unworthiness we dare not, and for our blindness we cannot ask; through the worthiness of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Sunday School: Sunday School is held each Sunday at 10:00 am in the downstairs classroom. Sunday School is open to all children from Kindergarten to 5th grade.
SUNDAY SCHOOL IS IN RECESS FOR THE SUMMER AND WILL RETURN ON RALLY DAY, SEPTEMBER 10th.
Clean-Up Day: We will be holding a church clean-up day on Saturday, August 5th from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon, and need your help in order to complete a list of items that need to be accomplished that day. We will be cleaning up the alley in back of the church, cleaning gutters and downspouts and clearing items for disposal that we have been accumulating in a downstairs room. Our friends from Renew Community, who are presently renting the church during the summer, will be coming to help us as well. Please mark your calendar and spend as much time as you are able to on August 5th to get our church looking its best.
Vacation Bible School: It is with regret that we announce that we will not be holding Vacation Bible School this summer. It is something that we have always enjoyed doing, and know it was a blessing to many of thechildren attending; but we were unable to bring all the aspects of the program together this year in time to make it a successful program. We will work to get a Vacation Bible School program running again in future years.
Weekly Community Social Networking Event: Every Monday from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, we hold a discussion group in St. Margaret’s Hall led by David Nejako. This is open to anyone from the parish or the community who would like to join in a group to discuss different subjects. The topic on July 24th will be “Australian Aborigines ‘Dreamtime’”. Anyone who would like to connect with others in a discussion group setting is invited.
Adult Bible Study: The Vestry has elected to begin a weekly adult Bible study. At the Vestry’s request, The Rev. Alan Broadhead will lead this study. It will be held on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm. All are welcome to attend.
